Now when a preacher puts out a statement such as this “I am visited by fear, worry, and anxiety.” you might freak-out but Yes that’s true, time to time I am visited by fear, worry, and anxiety but praise God I am inwardly designed for faith, not for fear. Fear is not my motherland; faith is. I am so made that worry and anxiety are sand in the machinery of life; faith is the oil. I live better by faith and confidence than by fear, doubt, and anxiety. In anxiety and worry, my being is gasping for breath, these are not my native air. But in faith and confidence, I breathe freely these are my native air.
John 8:36 Jesus says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” That is what we are after. “Free indeed.” Really free. Freedom in its deepest and fullest meaning Jesus offers us that right NOW! He is alive and reigning as the King of the universe, and he is making this offer of real Freedom to all of us today.
To be fully free, we must have the desire to do what will make us free forever. Only Jesus, the Son of God who died and rose for us and lives for evermore, can make that possible. If the Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed. To be set free forever, our sins must be forgiven and God’s wrath removed and Christ must become our supreme Treasure. Only Jesus can do that. In fact, he has already done it. He died for our sins. He absorbed God’s wrath. And he rose from the dead and is today therefore supremely precious. And he offers us that now as a free gift, all we have to do is to receive that offer of free gift and be set free!
As I have mentioned above, even after coming in relationship with the Creator the giver of life, time to time my mind stray away and visit fear, worry, and anxiety but praise God I can always count on God.
In Psalms 73:21-24 ‘ When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart, I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward you. Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory.’
No matter where you are at today in life Jesus invites you to come to him and his invitation and gift set me free and gave me hope to live my life knowing that He walks with me no matter what I face or what I may face in life.
Jesus said in John 10:9-10 ‘I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. ‘
Remember God loves you, God demonstrated his love for you and me through his only son Jesus Christ, Bible says in Romans 5:8 “But God shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Turn toward Christ by asking the Lord to forgive your sins. Acts 3:19 “Repent, therefore and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…”
Receive Jesus as Savior, Don’t have to try “clean up your life/mess” before you come to God. Instead, receive Him and allow Him to do the “cleansing.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake, He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Respond with Eagerness, just talk to Him in your own words. Thank Him for His love, His sacrifice of Jesus on the cross for your sins. Ask for His forgiveness, placing your trust in His promise to forgive, and for His guidance in your new relationship with Him!
